Kaye Monk-Morgan
Vice President of Strategic Engagement and Planning
Wichita State University
Kaye Monk-Morgan has been a college administrator for nearly 30 years and has served in roles ranging from residence hall director to Assistant Dean of Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She currently serves Wichita State University as Vice President for Strategic Engagement and Planning. Her portfolio of responsibilities includes community and engagement, strategic planning, assessment and accreditation, and coordination of WSU’s First-Generation student services.
An active community servant, Monk-Morgan’s professional and community service record is evidence of her named passions. She has served on non-profit and corporate boards at the local, state, regional and national levels, including serving as the board chair for the Council for Opportunity in Education, a Washington-based, college access and success professional association and advocacy group. She is an Associate with the Kansas Leadership Center, where she supports leaders in their efforts to make progress on pressing community issues. She has earned multiple academic credentials including a Bachelor of Chemistry/Business, a Master of Arts in Public Administration and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
While all of this is important, what really counts to Kaye is that she is a teacher, student, mentor, mentee, daughter, sister, auntie, wife, and most importantly a mother. She is a life-long learner, aspiring yogi, wannabe long-distance runner and tried and true girlfriend. She lives in Wichita, KS with her husband of 25 years, Derek, and young adult sons, Payton and Cameron, at least when they are on break from college.
