Sarah Lopez
County Commissioner District 2
Sedgwick County
Sarah was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. Sarah is serving her first term as County Commissioner for Sedgwick County’s District 2, which includes parts of Wichita, Haysville, and Clearwater.
Prior to her service as County Commissioner, Sarah spent 15 years working for Ascension Via-Christi Healthcare System. She first provided clinical care and then worked the next 10 years in IT / Business Management. Sarah was promoted multiple times throughout her career with Ascension Technologies because of her strong work ethic and ability to be solution oriented as part of a team. She has enjoyed bringing her healthcare background to the Board of Health as well as her technical experience to the County Commission. Her passion to serve on the Sedgwick County Commission is to support the people of District 2 by working tirelessly on critical issues of criminal justice reform, mental health, and workforce development.
Sarah currently serves on multiple boards, which include the HealthCore Clinic, Exploration Place, Habitat for Humanity, WAMPO and serves as the Vice President of the Haysville Education Foundation. She is fervently committed to the health, safety, and prosperity of our hard working individuals and families in Sedgwick County.
Sarah has five children; the older three were baptized at St. Anne’s Catholic Church and attend Haysville Public Schools. Her twin girls born this January have become a sweet and welcome addition to the family. In her free time, you might find her cheering on her son on the Jr. Colts Football Team, at her oldest daughter’s swim meets (Go Haysville Piranhas!), on the sideline at the Girls Campus Soccer games! (Go Colts!), or out walking the twins in one of Haysville’s great parks.
